As of December 2014, China Mobile (Chinese: 中国移动) is the world's largest mobile phone operator by subscribers with about 806 million. The ARPU(Average revenue per user) for the company stays at 90 Renminbi since 2004.
2. Verizon Communications
Verizon Communications (pronounced /vəˈraɪzən/ və-ry-zən), is an American broadband and telecommunications company, the largest U.S. wireless communications service provider as of September 2014, and a corporate component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The company is based at 1095 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, but is incorporated in Delaware.
What eventually became Verizon was founded as Bell Atlantic, which was one of the seven Baby Bells that were formed afterAT&T Corporation was forced to relinquish its control of the Bell System by order of the Justice Department of the United States.Bell Atlantic came into existence in 1984 with a footprint from New Jersey to Virginia, with each area having a separate operating company (consisting of New Jersey Bell, Bell of Pennsylvania, Diamond State Telephone, and C&P Telephone).
As part of the rebranding that the Baby Bells took in the mid-1990s, all of the operating companies assumed the Bell Atlantic name. In 1997, Bell Atlantic expanded into New York and the New England states by merging with fellow Baby Bell NYNEX. In addition, Bell Atlantic moved their headquarters from Philadelphia into the old NYNEX headquarters and rebranded the entire company as Bell Atlantic.
In 2000 Bell Atlantic merged with GTE, which operated telecommunications companies across most of the rest of the country that was not already in Bell Atlantic's footprint. Bell Atlantic, the surviving company, changed its name to "Verizon", a portmanteau ofveritas (Latin for "truth") and horizon.
As of 2016, Verizon is one of three companies that had their roots in the former Baby Bells. The other two, like Verizon, exist as a result of mergers among fellow former Baby Bell members. One, SBC Communications, bought out its former parent AT&T Corporation and assumed the AT&T name. The other, CenturyLink, was formed initially in 2011 by the acquisition of Qwest(formerly named US West).
3. Vodafone
odafone Group plc /ˈvoʊdəfoʊn/ is a British multinational telecommunications company headquartered in London and with its registered office in Newbury, Berkshire. It is the world's second largest mobile telecommunications company measured by both subscribers and 2013 revenues (behind China Mobile), and had 434 million subscribers as of 31 March 2014.
Vodafone owns and operates networks in 26 countries and has partner networks in over 50 additional countries. Its Vodafone Global Enterprise division provides telecommunications and IT services to corporate clients in 150 countries.
Vodafone has a primary listing on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. It had a market capitalisation of approximately £89.1 billion as of 6 July 2012, the third-largest of any company listed on the London Stock Exchange. It has a secondary listing on NASDAQ.
4. AT&T
AT&T Inc. is an American multinational telecommunications corporation, headquartered at Whitacre Tower indowntown Dallas, Texas. AT&T is the second largest provider of mobile telephone and the largest provider of fixed telephone in the United States, and also provides broadband subscription television services. AT&T is the third-largest company in Texas (the largest non-oil company, behind only ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips, and also the largest Dallas company). As of May 2014, AT&T is the 23rd-largest company in the world as measured by a composite of revenues, profits, assets and market value,and the 16th-largest non-oil company. As of 2016, it is also the 18th-largest mobile telecom operator in the world, with over 128.6 million mobile customers.
AT&T was ranked #6 on the 2015 rankings of the world's most valuable brands published by Millward Brown Optimor.
AT&T Inc. began its existence as Southwestern Bell Corporation, one of seven Regional Bell Operating Companies(RBOC's) created in 1983 in the divestiture of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (founded 1885, later AT&T Corp.) following the 1982 United States v. AT&T antitrust lawsuit. Southwestern Bell changed its name to SBC Communications Inc. in 1995. In 2005, SBC purchased former parent AT&T Corp. and took on its branding, with the merged entity naming itself AT&T Inc. and using the iconic AT&T Corp. logo and stock-trading symbol.
The current AT&T reconstitutes much of the former Bell System and includes ten of the original 22 Bell Operating Companies, along with the original long distance division.
5. Nippon Telegraph & Tel
The Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (日本電信電話株式会社 Nippon Denshin Denwa Kabushiki-gaisha), commonly known as NTT, is a Japanese telecommunications company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. Ranked 65th inFortune Global 500, NTT is the third largest telecommunications company in the world in terms of revenue.
The company is incorporated pursuant to the NTT Law (Law Concerning Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, Etc.).The purpose of the company defined by the Law is to own all the shares issued by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West) and to ensure proper and stable provision of telecommunications services all over Japan including remote rural areas by these companies as well as to conduct research relating to the telecommunications technologies that will form the foundation for telecommunications.
While NTT is listed on Tokyo, Osaka, New York, and London stock exchanges, the Japanese government still owns roughly one-third of NTT's shares, regulated by the NTT Law.

SoftBank was established in 1981 and is headquartered in Tokyo. As at 2015, SoftBank was the 62nd largest company in the world (based on a composite of sales, profit, assets and market value).

Telefónica, S.A. (Spanish pronunciation: [teleˈfonika]) is a Spanish broadband and telecommunications provider with operations in Europe, Asia, North America and South America. Operating globally, it is one of the largest telephone operators and mobile network providers in the world. The company is a component of the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index.
The company started as a public telecommunications company. Its head office is in the Distrito Telefónica in Madrid. As well as the Telefónica brand, it also trades as O2, Vivo and Movistar.
It is present in 21 countries and has customers more than 341 million accesses. It has presence in Spain, Europe and Latin America, where it focuses an important part of its growth strategy.
It is a 100% listed company, with 1.5 million direct shareholders. It has 274.5 million mobile phones accesses; 36.8 million fixed telephony accesses, 18.15 million Internet and data accesses and 5.1 million pay TV accesses.
9. America Movil
América Móvil is a Mexican telecommunications corporation headquartered in Mexico City, Mexico. It is the fourth largest mobile network operator in terms of equity subscribers and one of the largest corporations in the world. América Móvil is a Forbes Global 2000 company. A venture of Carlos Slim, América Móvil provides services to 289.4 million wireless subscribers, 34.3 million landlines, 22.6 million broadband accesses and 21.5 million PayTV units as of the end of 2014.
10. China Telecom
China Telecommunications Corporation (Chinese: 中国电信集团公司; literally: "China Telecommunications Group Corporation") is a Chinese state-owned telecommunication company. It is the largest fixed-line service and the third largest mobile telecommunication provider in the People's Republic of China. It has two major holding companies: China Telecom Corporation Limited (中国电信股份有限公司) and China Communications Services Corporation Limited
It provides basic telecommunications services such as wire line telecommunications services and mobile telecommunications services as well as value-added telecommunications services such as Internet access services and information services.
China Telecom was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Beijing, China. In 2003, it has acquired six telecom companies as its wholly-owned subsidiaries, including Anhui Telecom, Fujian Telecom, Jiangxi Telecom, Guangxi Telecom, Chongqing Telecom and Sichuan Telecom from China Telecommunications Corporation. It has also acquired China Telecom (HK), China Telecom (Americas) and China Telecom System Integration from China Telecommunications Corporation in 2007. At the end of March 2015, it has wire line access lines in service of about 141.41 Million, wire line broadband subscribers of about 108.30 Million and mobile subscribers of about 188.82 Million. Key products and services of China Telecom are: Wireline Voice Services, Mobile Voice Services, Internet Access Services, Value-added Services, Integrated Information Application Services, Managed Data and Leased Line Services. The major brands of China Telecom are:
